At one time, Coors Field was a home run haven. This all changed when management installed a humidor to keep the baseballs from drying out. However, even with the humidor, Coors Field remains today the number one hitters' park in baseball thanks to its high altitude and large outfield landscape.

The park has spacious dimensions − 347 & 350 feet to left/right respectively, 415 to center, 390/375 in the alleys − but all that outfield to cover also makes for easy doubles and triples.

Coors Field had the highest total runs per game in 2010 with an average of 10.59 in 2010. Only two other parks allowed more than 10 runs per game in 2010 (Yankees Stadium 10.31 and Boston’s Fenway Park 10.01).
